Port Jefferson Country Club, one of the premier country clubs on Long Island’s North Shore, features an 18-hole championship golf course overlooking the Long Island Sound, supported by Lessing’s Hospitality Group.
Established in 1908 as the nine-hole Belle Terre Club designed by Alexander Findlay, the course expanded to 18 holes in 1924 with influence from Devereux Emmet. Today’s 145-acre, 6,800-yard layout blends portions of both original designs and is complemented by a clubhouse, fitness center, locker rooms, and a full-service 19th-hole facility known as The Turn.
In 1978, Port Jefferson residents approved the purchase of the former Harbor Hills Country Club, and in 1986 the Village Board officially renamed it Port Jefferson Country Club.

The Port Jefferson Country Club was established in 1908 on the North Shore of Long Island. On October 13, 1956, Harbor Hills Country Club golf course, designed by Alfred H. Tull, opened its 145 acre, 6,800 yard, Par 72 championship golf course. The current 18 hole course includes several holes from the Alexander Findlay and Devereux Emmet designs. The golf course is rich in tradition and history and is played competitively by its members on a daily basis.
