The picturesque course is complemented by a magnificent clubhouse, fitness center and locker rooms and a full-service 19th hold food and beverage facility known as The Turn.
Port Jefferson Country Club traces its roots to 1908, as the nine-hole Belle Terre Club, designed by Alexander Findlay.
In 1924, with influence from Devereux Emmet, the course expanded to 18 holes.
The current layout is a 145-acre, 6800-yard championship course and includes sections of the original nine-hole Findlay course and 18-hole Emmet course.
On May 2, 1978, by a vote of 892 to 616, residents of Port Jefferson approved the purchase of the 170-acre Harbor Hills Country Club, making it one of Long Island's premiere municipally owned and operated private membership Country Clubs. And on July 2, 1986, the Village Board voted to change the name to Port Jefferson Country Club.

The Port Jefferson Country Club was established in 1908 on the North Shore of Long Island. On October 13, 1956, Harbor Hills Country Club golf course, designed by Alfred H. Tull, opened its 145 acre, 6,800 yard, Par 72 championship golf course. The current 18 hole course includes several holes from the Alexander Findlay and Devereux Emmet designs. The golf course is rich in tradition and history and is played competitively by its members on a daily basis.
